History of the Stud
Loughtown Stud was purchased by the present owner in 1996.
The stud is formerly the home of such notable stallions as Archive (sire of Arkle), Red God, Larkspur, Raise You Ten, Henbit and Ballad Rock.
Loughtown was also the birthplace of the 1963 Irish Sweeps Derby and St. Leger winner Ragusa.
